This group of paintings is named Jubilate Deo, which is Latin for “Rejoice in God”. Joy is something one experiences inwardly, but at the same time Nature itself is full of joy and so it can also be seen outwardly...
Most of the paintings in this group were created using the music of various Baroque composers: Durante, Handel, Buxtehude, and the little-known Czech Baroque composer Bohuslav Chernohorsky. Like the Baroque, the themes of the paintings are multi-faceted and complex, but in many ways have hints of joy: whether at sublime birth or through songful praise.
