Synopsis

This painting speaks about the humble offer Man can give to the Gods from his own life, as a fruit. The pomegranates are an old symbol of suffering; and indeed, life on Earth contains many sufferings which one must endure. She is partially naked, and this nakedness is also a symbol - of the vulnerability and fragility of the earthly life.
